SafeSmart’s reach into Victoria got another boost this week via an expansion into a new warehouse facility in Melbourne’s north west.
The Sydney-born—now global—portable height access company had previously been part-leasing a shared facility in Keilor Park and had outgrown it due to a big increase in demand for their products in Melbourne and Victoria, such as with previous projects for Yarra Trams and John Holland (Westgate Tunnel Project) and others.
The new Keilor Park facility will house products for SafeSmart Access as well as their specialised divisions, SafeSmart Scaffolding and SafeSmart Aviation. The location is ideal for SafeSmart and their Vic expansion – close proximity to Melbourne’s docks via the Western Ring Road for easy shipments and receiving of customised products from the New Zealand factory, and even closer proximity to Melbourne Airport for better-servicing SafeSmart Aviation’s MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) and airline clients.
SafeSmart director Greg Hales is excited about the expansion.
“Melbourne has always been a great market for us,” says Greg, “and we have served the construction, infrastructure, transport and aviation industries quite well there.
But now our turnaround time on delivery will be even quicker, so big projects in Melbourne’s big development, construction and infrastructure boom can work more safely more easily.”
Adding to this convenience, SafeSmart will also be bolstering staff to keep up with the demand.
“It never hurts to have more hands on deck when helping clients with their height access issues,” says Greg, “and being able to send a representative to a worksite at very short notice has been a big point of difference for us. Clients have the luxury of face to face pre-sale consultation, so they get the right product that adheres to all safety regulations as well, whether they’re customised of one of our ranged units.”
