Bridgedeck Access System Developed
After a Plant Hire client approached SafeSmart in May 2013, seeking a cost-effective, versatile and easy system to change windscreens on their range of road rollers, we looked inside our broad range to see what could be utilised to provide a solution to their access problem. The product had to be height and width adjustable to suit different makes and models of machine, and simple and quick to use for maintenance staff in yards across the country.
Cantilever Platform Release
In August 2013, SafeSmart released a new range of maintenance platforms, aimed at the machinery maintenance, heavy construction, and industrial maintenance market. The unique feature of these platforms was the large, self-supported 1m cantilever section, allowing users to reach over obstacles and get closer than ever before to their work area without reaching out from the platform.
A380 Spot Maintenance Platform Design
SafeSmart Access is undergoing a new design for an aluminium platform to service the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 747 and 787 Dreamliner. This revolutionary mobile platform will allow maintenance checks to be conducted with ease.

Coming Soon – Fold Flat Portable Stairs
Months of development and testing are almost at an end with the impending release of our new portable stair design. As well as the famous adjustable height and self-levelling capability, this new model will have the ability to fold completely flat.
North West Rail Link
North West Rail Link Contractor TJHD JV commissioned SafeSmart to proceed with the manufacture of the Cross Passage access platforms. These platforms will be used for walkways and access into the cross passages as well as providing loading docks for equipment and materials. Over 6 metres in length, these platforms can be joined to allow continuous, unobstructed access.
Australian Helicopters
After Australian Helicopters secured the contract to service four new bases in Victoria for emergency air services, SafeSmart was successful in winning the design and supply of maintenance stands for each site. These will be delivered to Essendon, Latrobe Valley, Bendigo and Warrnambool over the next 12 months as each site is commissioned. The platforms consisted of 2 side platforms and a tail platform suited to the Augusta Westland 139 aircraft.
Pedestrian Bridges
After receiving several enquiries and orders over the past few months for temporary pedestrian bridges on sites, SafeSmart has launched a new range of pedestrian access bridges. These bridges are 1200mm wide and come in various lengths to give you instant access over penetrations, trenches and voids. Handrails and toeboards each side make them fully compliant to relevant Australian standards.

Qantas Engineering
The brief from Qantas Engineering department was to design and install a mobile cabin access to the rear exit door of the B737. The platform needed a sturdy deck that would fit with the contour of the plane and remove any fall from height hazard during mandatory works on this area.
