Situated in Kangy Angy is the intercity fleet maintenance facility now operated by UGL Rail. John Holland, the contractor responsible for the design and construction of the facility, required driver access platforms for safe access to the trains when moving them in and out of the maintenance roads.

For worker convenience, SafeSmart’s adapted the proprietary SafeLoader platform and developed a 2mH x 1.2mW x 3.5mL version with key features like 45 degree stair access, self-closing gates, perforated deck for superior grip, reversible guardrails for flexibility and large castors for manoeuvrability .
